Scott Wylie

Chair

Scott had a successful career as a tech executive working in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the US, and after many years of corporate life he's now swapped it all for a lifestyle block in Peka Peka.

He joined the XOtaki trust in 2018 and is keen to grow this invaluable support network of former students and staff helping the college thrive into the future.

Andy Fraser

Principal

Kia ora

Ko Andy Fraser ahau, te Tumuaki o te Kariti o Ōtaki.

Andy has been a resident of Ōtaki for 23 years and at the College for 17 of those. He started at the college as Deputy Principal in 2008 and took over the role of Principal in 2012. He’s married with two daughters who live locally and now has seven mokopuna who are attending Kohanga Reo or are at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Rito.

He was president of the Horowhenua/Kāpiti Touch Association for 12 years, has been involved with the Rahui rugby club, and contributes to the community as a Justice of the Peace.

Peter Northern

Trustee

Peter was born and bred in Otaki where he still lives with his wife Debbie. He
went through Otaki Primary and Otaki College as did both his children. He has a strong desire to see both the College and the community continue to thrive through the coming years.

Interests include surfing, fishing and golf. He also enjoys travelling and spending time with family.

Travis Robertson

Trustee

Travis was born and raised in Ōtaki. Attending Waitohu School and Ōtaki College before heading off to Otago University. After graduation he and wife Catherne moved to London, spending four years working and travelling. Now returned to the Kapiti Coast, he works as a local real estate agent in Ōtaki.

He’s part of the Otaki Sports Club and currently plays football for Purutaitama. He joined the Ōtaki Alumni Trust in 2024 and is looking forward to helping enhance our incredible College and Students.

Rachel Hooper

Trustee

 Rachel attended Otaki College in the 1990s. She lived and worked in Sydney, Australia in the early 2000s and upon returning to New Zealand sought employment in the Hospitality industry, where she still is today, in an Administrative Role.

Rachel was first introduced to the XOtaki Alumni Trust as a co-opted member to the 2019 Reunion Committee. She became a Trustee in October 2024.

John Heatherwick was also a Steering Group member and had accepted nomination as a Trustee when he suddenly died in April 2014. John will be sadly missed from XŌtaki and his contribution will be remembered.
